Founded in the late 1990’s by Laurie Stephenson, the Saratoga Springs Youth Orchestra (SSYO) began with the single vision of developing a world-class youth orchestra within Saratoga Springs.
Over the years the orchestra has welcomed many young musicians from throughout the region, affording each an opportunity to pursue their personal aspirations and love for music.
Today, the SSYO is an ensemble based music program accepting advanced student musicians from the Saratoga region and surrounding counties in northern, upstate New York. The Board of SSYO takes pride in the wide range of music that has been performed over the years, all under the guidance of outstanding artistic directorship.
